This new bathroom is part of a full basement renovation. Due the size of the whole job, the budget for the bathroom was limited. The goal was to create "The Look for Less" Moderately priced tile is used to create large piers of travertine that aim to make this short space feel higher and bigger.
This ensuite bathroom had a cathedral ceiling and the client had a request to have an open shower stall with rain shower head from above. The solution gave us an irregularly cocked post with floating beam to add to the wood imagery. The room is actually very small so a fully enclosed glass shower stall would not have allowed enough room to pass between it and the tub to get to the toilet safely.
Mirrors can help make any space feel bigger. This illusion is enhanced when the mirror touches a furred out wall and doubles the size of the walls depth.

It also serves as the powder room for that special dinner party or other gathering. The design strategy was to create a space that celebrated the vanity area while playing down the shower area. We highlighted the vanity area with two glass walls framing the space. The glass walls also each continue into the mirror thus helping make this room feel larger.
