Born and raised in Toronto, Tim came to Ottawa in 1987 to attend Architecture at Carleton University. He fell in love with the city and decided to stay and build a life and a career. Now, with over a thousand renovations completed and over a thousand overjoyed clients, the work continues and keeps getting better.
After Architecture, Tim concentrated on designing houses, outbuildings and even a resort in Costa Rica. Larger projects with an emphasis on super energy efficiency at super low cost construction was the centre of attention, a continuation of the research and design thesis work at Carleton.
In 1998, Tim started with Elliott Custom Kitchens and Bathrooms, a renovator concentrating on a "cabinets-in cabinets-out" business model. Together, over the next 22 years, we built the company into a major kitchen and bathroom renovation player in the city with jobs topping out at $350,000.
The Design Truth method of Kitchen and Bathroom renovations has proven to be a great success. Beyond exemplary design and flawless workmanship, control of every facet of your job has resulted in an extraordinarily high accuracy rate where every job has been completed in exactly the way it was originally presented.
The heart and soul of how things get done. Construction, cabinet and countertop install, tiling, painting, etc.. Corey and his crew make us feel lucky everyday to have them as lead part of our labour team. Most clients express a sadness after these guys leave when the job is done. Did you ever think you were going to miss a contractor when they're done?
Custom Cabinets of the highest quality and variety. If we can think it up, they can build it. Only our imaginations limit the options. Warranty, Service and a commitment to the environment and their employee's well being sets them apart from just another cabinet builder.
Everything plumbing comes from Mondeau. Together, we will visit their beautiful showroom and select all the faucets, sinks tubs and the rest and bring together the perfect high quality, high functioning room. Their service is also a good reason to be a part of this well run company. Issues are rectified with grace and pace.
We have been working with Urban Quarry since 1999 when they went by the name, Marble Unlimited. They hove come a long way and have proven that the continued pursuit of perfection is worth everything you put into it. We have certainly given them some challenges and they have always come through with flying colours.
Scott and Rob and their whole crew at Lumos are the best of the best. "Preferred ESA Status Electrical Contractors" One thing that is appreciated is that they are the only electrical contractors we have ever dealt with that don't push those hideous pancake pot lights. They cater to what we want to make every job look spectacular.
Of the few we use, Centura is our preferred supplier of tile, grout, edging, heated floor and other accessories. Their showrooom is spectacular yet welcoming. Their showroom staff really helps put the rooms together as they are so well informed about their product as well knowing how we work and the result we want for you.

For 22 years, from 1998 to 2020, Brian Elliott and I built Elliott Custom Kitchens & Bathrooms from a small "cabinets-in-cabinets-out" kitchen and bath renovator into a major player in the city of Ottawa with many design awards and jobs topping $350,000. We created something magical. Brian's skill level allowed him to build just about anything. I brought in a design ideal but also an expertise and background in Architecture and Engineering. I was able to envision more ambitious projects and Brian and the Elliott crew were ready, willing and able.
Brian retired and I am on my own now, somewhat. That said, there are some familiar faces that are a big part of what I do for my clients. Corey Peters and I worked at Elliott together for about 4 years. In 2020, Corey started his own renovation company and called it Vast Carpentry. Corey and his team are now my labour guys. Many of the projects shown on this website are examples of their excellent work. Corey uses Lumos Electric. The principals at Lumos are Rob Bitner and Scott Cleator. Both Corey and I worked with Rob and Scott at Elliott. Corey has brought in Matthew Olmstead and his company, Jiffy Plumbing. They are becoming a trusted part of the operation, good friends too. Painting work goes to Karl Dunker of Dunker Painting, an Elliott sub-contractor for over 25 years (and Corey's father-in-law - Ahh!...now you're starting to figure out how all this fits together.) Also, all the other trades and suppliers have a history with us over the past few decades. We have built a network of trust and respect that shows in everything we do for you.
Brian is fully retired now but a big piece of that magic we created is still here. We all look forward to working with you, our clients, and bringing that magic to your life.
